How would you describe this look?

This look is a lot like a “dip dye” or reverse ombré. When a client comes in and asks for a certain look, especially like this, it’s all about consultation.

I used @limecrimemakeup unicorn hair color, Strawberry Jam, and I told her I would suggest going for a brighter look because with these semi-permanent colors they wash out very fast. Take into consideration that you need to not wash your hair every day while having semi vivid colors.

I especially love this look because it will fade really pretty, and pinks and purples are great colors to start into the more vivid tones and colors.

I styled with hot tools using a 1″ inch curling iron.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look is for anyone wanting to try to add some pops of color throughout their existing color. Preferably on blondes, because not all vivids show up on levels 6 and darker without lightening the hair. It will eventually wash out 4-6 weeks depending on the actual hair maintenance of it and if the client follows my instructions to maintain this look. This look can be for anyone willing to try someone fun.

How would you describe this look?

This style is a slight A-line bob with layers and lots of texture cut into it. I gave her pops of red and blonde highlights because she loves the contrast. I have to say I love everything about this! A-line bobs are my fave and I love all the texture. I always love seeing a lot of contrast.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This is one of the most versatile styles and colors for anyone. It’s very low maintenance especially if you have a natural wave in your hair. If your hair is very straight naturally, it only takes a few minutes to throw in some loose, messy curls just to add a little movement and texture. Even though the color has a lot of contrast, it’s still a very natural color so it doesn’t require a lot of maintenance.

The shape of the cut looks great on almost anyone, especially those with more of a rounder, fuller face because it actually lengthens the face and makes it look a little narrower. It’s not always the best for someone with a long narrow face already as it will just accentuate that.

How would you describe this look?

The thing I love the most about this look is that it is fun and definitely showcases the client’s personality! It’s colorful and vibrant but can also be mature and office friendly. I don’t often see clients who want these types of bright rooted colors so it’s definitely unique.

It’s important to use salon quality color care and be mindful when showering. While these colors are permanent, they should not be shampooed in hot water. Tepid water temperature is preferred with a cool rinse.

How would you describe this look?

The look has a simple yet striking effect. It doesn’t have lots of complicated sectioning and blends, but the precision of the two colors that split straight down the middle definitely stands out. The best way to wear this look is with a sharp haircut to really enhance the lines and precision. It also looks great with a short blunt fringe to complete the effect. The loveliest thing about this look is the simplicity of it – you don’t need seven different rainbow colors and color melts to stand out.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look is easiest to create on natural virgin hair or hair that is already blonde. Trying to get that lovely even, clean blonde on hair that is already red or colored with a dark color would be a challenge and may take several appointments to achieve whilst maintaining the condition of the hair.

Reds do fade quickly, so the color would need regular top-ups (every 6 weeks or so) to keep it looking its best and to keep the blonde looking fresh. A professional color hold shampoo and conditioner will help maintain the color, and washing in cool water helps prevent both color fade and the colors bleeding together.  As I mentioned, this is a striking look, so to wear this you’d need to be prepared to turn heads – you’re going to get noticed with a color like this!

Red and Blonde Highlights on Brown Hair

How would you describe this look?

This is a high fashion color lit up with a pop of light blonde, cherry, copper, and red highlights framing the top and sides of the hairstyle which helps to enhance the haircut and style. This long hairstyle is cut into a few soft delicate layers that blend ever so gently into the long length that make it nearly impossible to detect. This helps achieve a hassle-free hairstyle that is easy to maintain.

The style is achieved by blow-drying with a leave-in conditioner and spray oil into the hair. Then the hair is flat ironed and lightly misted with hairspray. The greatest thing is this is a hassle-free haircut and color. It will grow out seamlessly and is perfect for the younger client.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Remember to invest in professional products from the salon to help support the hair color and hairstyle and to keep the integrity of the hair, as this is a hi-lift blonde and a creative hair color. Remember when trying out pop hair colors to be committed. This is a perfect choice for the upcoming winter months.

My client was headed back to high school and wanted a dramatic look. Her mother did not want a high maintenance color on her daughter’s hair. It was my job to give them both what they wanted. I decided a partial highlight of blonde and red highlights would make both of them happy while maintaining the integrity of my young client’s hair. It would be dramatic enough for my client but not too over the top to make mom happy.

This look is a fun and hassle-free color and style that is perfect for a young teenager as my client pictured. It has a few long substile layers that blend beautifully into the client’s long hair making it easier to grow out and to accent the hair color nicely. The highlights are easy to maintain when a professional shampoo and conditioner are used from the salon. It helps with fading. What is great about this fashion red highlight color is when it does start to fade it will blend nicely into a strawberry blonde.

How would you describe this look?

I love this look because it’s romantic meets trendy. It has soft but vibrant copper and copper blonde, soft texture with the cut and style, but with an asymmetrical fringe. The soft waves and fun bangs really help bring out all the shades in this color.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I think this color and style is best for all face shapes, fine to medium texture, and someone who’s not afraid of color and cut maintenance to preserve the look. I used my go-to products of Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry before and after the blow-dry with a round brush and then used a 1 1/4″ curling iron and large sections to create the loose tousled waves in her hair, using the IGK Beach Club texture spray to finish everything off.
